Darya started as an opera singer. She grew up in an artistic environment in
Iran where her mother is a singer and director of the Marionette Theatre.
Darya received her "Diplome d'Etudes Musicales (DEM)" (Gold Medal) in
voice in 1999 in France. She studied at the Conservatoire de Toulouse in France in 2000 and obtained a first class and Diploma of professional cycle in Baroque Style. Darya has a Master of Arts from the Ecole supérieure des Beaux-arts de Toulouse
She has resided in Paris since 2001, engaged in a successful career as a
soprano. She has attracted listeners from around the globe. One of her unforgettable performances was in Iran with the Armenian Symphony Orchestra, composed and directed by Loris Tjeknavorian, where she appeared as Tahmineh, in the tragedy of Rostam and Sohrab from the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi.
Darya creates her own music by combining the traditional music of Iran with
European classical song. Her unique talent in arranging Iranian music
with jazz and blues elements, places her among top “World Music" Artists.
At times she combines different musical styles within one song, bringing historical periods together, crossing language and dialect barriers. Following her innate instincts she has created a new style of song and singing.

دريا دادور دختر چنگ سحرآميز (نسرین ارمگان) قصة حسن و خانوم حنا ست . صداي خوش و روح شاعري در او موروثي است و عشق بيپايان او به موسيقي و آواز از كودكي در رگهايش جاريست.
از كودكي روي صحنه و در لابهلاي دكورهاي تئاتر زندگي كرده، از دنياي جادوئي آن الهام گرفته و با عشق به تماشاچي و مردم، رؤياهاي آيندهاش را ساخته است.
دريا با دريايي از عشق به وطن، سرزمين هزار و يك شب، تخت جمشيد، فردوسي، حافظ، خيام و مولانا را وداع ميگويد و براي كسب دانش، هنر، موسيقي و آواز راهي ديار موزار و بيزه ميشود.
در سال 1999 از كنسرواتوآر ملي تولوز فرانسه، موفق به دريافت مدال طلا در رشتة آواز ليريك ميشود و سپس در سال 2000 ديپلم حرفهاياش را در رشتة آواز باروك اخذ مينمايد.
او بلافاصله پس از پايان تحصيلاتش در تئاتر سلطنتي كومپين فرانسه، به عنوان سوليست در دو اجراي متوالي ايفاي نقش مينمايد.
دريا دادور در تابستان سال 2002 چندين شب متوالي در تهران با همراهي اركستر سمفونيك ارمنستان به رهبري لوريس چكناوريان، آواز هاي نقش تهمينه در اپراي ملي رستم و سهراب را اجرا ميكند و در زمستان همان سال در تالار وحدت ) رودكي ( تهران چندين شب پيدرپي در جشنوارة موسيقي ملل به رهبري لوريس چكناوريان آواز ميخواند.
او بارها براي اجراي كنسرت به كشورهاي مختلف جهان از جمله ايران، فرانسه، آلمان، سوئد، عمان، آمريكا ، كانادا و .... دعوت ميشود.
عشق دريا به شعر و موسيقي و گويشهاي گوناگون سرزمين زادگاهش ، او را قادر ساخته است تا طيف وسيعي از ترانههاي محلي و سنتي ايران را به سبک خود و به زيبائي اجرا نمايد. او آهنگهایی نیز روی اشعار فارسی ساخثه و میسازد. ترانه "رقص من" روی قطعه یی از شغر"زهره و منوچهر" ایرج میرزا و "تاب بنفشه" روی غزلی از "حافظ" از جمله خلاقیتهای اخیر او میباشد.
